I am inspired by the interplay of light and dark in the skies and fields around the community where I live. I think of my paintings as meditations on nature and time, as well as my emotional responses to the personal, social and political climate of my life.
I grew up in South Bend, Indiana, in a culturally European, art loving home. I began studying art at the age of 16 at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan and later at the Chicago Academy of the Arts in Chicago, Illinois. I earned my BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1996.
From 1999- 2011, I lived in Savannah, Georgia, where I exhibited regularly with CAS Fine Art Group, and sold my work out of my studio on Broughton Street. Marriage moved me to Charleston, South Carolina where I taught classes at the Artist School on James Island.
Since 2019 I have lived in Athens, Georgia, where I work in my home studio and spend time with my husband, son, and two cats.
